Hey there everyone!
With Mother’s Day fast approaching and since we’ve had a few Mother’s Day photo sessions, I’ve been trying to decide on the perfect Mother’s Day gift for the lovely women in my life that deserve to be oh-so appreciated, as I’m sure you are too!
So….I’ve come up with MY top gift picks for the ladies of motherhood. Side Note: If you hover over the brand names, there’s a link to take you to their website. In no particular order:
For the Cook: Kitchen Gadgets Anything, and I mean ANYTHING from Sur La Table!
Especially the fun, funky kitchen gadgets and tools they have near the front of the store, they come in fun colors and look so strange, but perform such great useful tasks in the kitchen. My favorite thing to do is make a basket, or use some kind of kitchen item as a basket, like a utensil holder or wine chiller, to hold a whole bunch of fun little things from this section. Pretty much anything in this store would be a great gift for a mom that loves to cook, they have everything a woman could want for her kitchen, trust me, I want the whole store!
My favorite, and my mother’s, is Sees Candy buttercream chocolates. Every chance I get, I talk the BF into taking me to our local Sees to pick out a custom chocolate box This is a big one on anniversaries and Valentine’s day, its pretty much the only thing I want to do. And every Mother’s Day I get my mom a box of her favorite buttercreams.
For the Wino: Wine Bottle Mini’s
Cost Plus World Market has these adorable mini wine bottles! They have champagne too! This is my go-to gift for hostesses and social functions. I’m always pushing my friends and family to try new wines, so I’ll do this for a fun birthday gift, or Mother’s Day for an aunt or friend. If my mom was more of a Wino I would definitely get a bunch of mini’s for her too, so keep it in mind.
For the Soap, Candle, Lotion Lover: Cucina soap, candles, lotion & cleaning products!
I absolutely LOVE this soap! I can only imagine all their other products are just as amazing! I discovered this soap one day at a fancy little boutique pizza place. I went to the bathroom and washed my hands with this wistfully aromatic soap (I’m a big soap person, I always judge a restaurant based partially on their bathroom soap – it’s a thing of mine) I couldn’t stop smelling my hands after that and wishing for more and more. And my hands were so soft and felt so nice! I had to call the restaurant the next day; I had to get me some of that soap! The hostess regretfully informed me that I couldn’t go and buy it anywhere; I had to purchase it online. So of course, I was upset, but being the researcher that I am, I found it at two online stores and I’m addicted! They have everything smell-good you can think of, and it smells wonderful! I’m buying everyone in my family a gift basket of this stuff this Christmas!
Yes, a Kindle! While I love my handy dandy iPad, the screen is near impossible to view outside and I’m an avid reader, would love to read while at the pool, so this is a major bummer for me. The kindle is on my list and if you have a mother in your life that loves to read, this would be a great gift! They’re reasonably priced and books will always be $9.99 or less! That’s a great deal, especially for brand new books, which as hard covers can cost anywhere from $15-$30. If the Kindle is out of your budgetary reach, the Barnes & Noble Membership Card is a perfect fallback. At only $25 the membership is for the entire year and offers great discounts on regularly priced books and even bigger discounts on already discounted books! My membership renewal always makes its way onto my Christmas or Birthday wish list.
For the Caffeine Addict: Starbucks anything or a coffee cup/mug
I’m a huge coffee whore! I have to have my coffee every morning before I become a normal human being. Everyone loves at least one thing from Starbucks, so a gift card for $20 (about 4 drinks) is a great way to treat your sister, grandmother, aunt or friend. I also think those new non-disposable-but-look-disposable-porcelain coffee mugs are great and make a really cute gift!
For the Jewelry fanatic: Stella & Dot!
This is a new thing to me, but I know a couple of people who sell this jewelry and I love the styles! You can find any style of jewelry from them at great prices! Plus, you’ll be helping out a local representative, or possibly a friend if know someone who sells Stella & Dot!
From the Kids: Home Made Gifts or Breakfast in Bed
Mom’s take care of us all year long, without stopping once to think about themselves. They cook our meals, clean our homes, hold us when we cry, and are always up and the crack of dawn with the little ones! So let’s let them sleep in on their day and get the kids together to make a superb breakfast and serve her in bed. And mom’s always love homemade gifts from their little ones! Pinterest can be very helpful in this department.
For Every Mom: Photographs!
I’m majorly into pictures, of anything and everything! I love photography so every year for everyone’s anything, I try to give a photography-related gift. Whether it’s a photo album, photo coasters (a huge hit at Christmas last year) or a photo session, it will be greatly appreciated. We’ve had a few people set up sessions this past month to surprise mom with some great family photos, or photos of the kids. She will love photos of her children and family or even if you purchase a gift certificate or a scheduled session that she can be apart of! Give her a wonderful gift of memories!
